How to Choose a Dental Clinic

Every legitimate dental clinic in Turkey should hold an official license from the Provincial Health Directorate, and clinics treating international patients should hold health tourism authorization from Turkey's Ministry of Health. Ask to see these documents — a clinic confident in its standing will show them.

Ask: "Can you show me your clinic license and health tourism authorization certificate?"

In some clinics, the person who consults with you isn't the person who treats you — and in rarer cases, non-dentist staff are involved in parts of the procedure. Ask directly who will perform your treatment, and check that person's individual qualifications, not just the clinic's brand name.

Ask: "Which specific dentist will perform my procedure, and what are their qualifications?"

A clinic's physical facility matters — sterilization standards, in-house imaging (panoramic/3D), and whether procedures happen in a proper clinical setting. Photos on a website aren't proof; ask for a video tour or verify through independent sources if you can't visit in person first.

Ask: "Can I see a video tour of the treatment rooms and sterilization area?"

Immediate after-photos look good almost everywhere. What matters more is results at 6 months, 1 year, or longer. Ask specifically for longer-term follow-up photos or outcomes, not just day-of results.

Ask: "Do you have patient results from 6+ months after treatment, not just immediately after?"

Reviews on a clinic's own website are the least verifiable. Independent sources (Google, Trustpilot) are harder to fake at scale. Be wary of a clinic with only glowing testimonials and no way to check where they came from.

Ask: "Can you point me to your independent Google or Trustpilot reviews?"

The headline price rarely tells the whole story. Hotel, transfers, medication, the exact materials/implant brand used, and the number of visits required can all be bundled in — or not. Get a written breakdown before you commit, not just a total.

Ask: "What's included in this price, and what would cost extra?"

Ask what happens if something needs adjusting after you've returned home — is there a warranty, and how would a remote follow-up or repeat visit actually work in practice?

Ask: "What is your aftercare and warranty policy once I've returned home?"

How a clinic (or facilitator) communicates before you've paid anything is a reasonable preview of how they'll communicate afterward. Slow, vague, or pressuring responses before booking are worth paying attention to.

Prices dramatically below every other quote you've received, pressure to decide immediately, refusal to name the treating dentist, no verifiable independent reviews, and no clear licensing information are all worth treating as warning signs rather than good luck.
